Gary has over 20 years' experience defending claims against a wide range of construction professionals including architects, design consultants, design & build contractors, structural engineers, mechanical & electrical engineers, quantity surveyors and approved inspectors/registered building control approvers. As well as defending claims for professionals and their insurers, Gary has extensive experience pursuing claims on their behalf, often on a subrogated basis for insurers. He also regularly advises clients on coverage issues and disputes.
Gary is used to dealing with high value, complex, multi-party disputes and has experience in all types of dispute resolution including litigation at every level of the court system in England & Wales, arbitration, adjudication and particularly mediation.
Gary has dealt with construction related disputes in every sector of the economy, including property (from residential properties through to large scale residential, commercial and mix-use developments), professional and financial services, retail, healthcare, manufacturing, energy, transport and logistics.
In recent years, he has gained particular experience of defending claims concerning alleged defects in external wall systems and other fire safety measures arising out of the investigations undertaken in the light of the Grenfell Tower tragedy.
