Emily heads up Keoghs Scotland counter-fraud team. She is an accredited counter-fraud specialist and is experienced in working with insurers to implement and develop their counter-fraud strategies. She has a wealth of experience in the handling and defence of claims involving both first and third party fraud including LVI, ring fraud, exaggerated claims, late notification claims, credit hire fraud and phantom passenger claims.
In addition to motor fraud, Emily has experience in handling fraudulent life insurance and home insurance claims. She has also worked with insurer clients to provide training on the handling of Scottish fraud claims and policy indemnity.
Emily has acted for insurer clients for over 10 years and has in depth knowledge of Scottish civil court procedure having handled her own motor, employer liability and public liability claims in both the Sheriff Court, Personal Injury Court and Court of Session. She commonly handles high value personal injury claims with a value of £250k+, including fatal claims, and has a particular interest in those claims involving elements of fraud, exaggeration or indemnity disputes.
Emily also has extensive experience in the supervision of bulk motor claims teams of various sizes and handling claims with a value of £0-£15,000. Her knowledge of bulk claims handling has allowed her to develop legal case management systems in order that such claims can be handled efficiently and economically.
