As one of Bolton’s biggest employers, Keoghs takes every opportunity to involve the community in relevant projects and the firm’s ever-popular annual calendar, distributed to clients and staff, is no exception.
Every year a competition is open to selected schools in the Bolton and Coventry area plus children related to Keoghs employees in order to find budding artists between 4 and 11 years old who will provide the artwork for the coming year’s calendar.
For 2016 the theme was 'If I were King or Queen for the day, I would...', and staff in Keoghs’ marketing department were taken aback by the diverse range of entries received. There’s no doubt it brought out the creative side in the children who submitted drawings with winning entries ranging from riding a T-Rex (with a broadsword) to granting everybody a duvet day!
Visiting the schools to present the winners with their prizes – a certificate and Toys R Us voucher (probably not prioritised in that order) – provides an important touching point between the firm and the community and this year was a fantastic experience for the staff who attended the various assemblies and had the great pleasure of also being shown round some of the schools.
If you’re a Keoghs client and have yet to receive a calendar, contact cholmes@keoghs.co.uk to request your copy.
Finally, Keoghs would like to thank all the amazing schools who took part this year and congratulate the winners and all those who made the judging so difficult!
