Concern for the environment forms an important part of our CSR policy.
Keoghs has already taken steps to reduce its environmental impact in many ways. Over the last two years, we have reduced waste output by 17% despite a 25% increase in employees. Furthermore, none of our waste is now sent to landfill.
Our cross-departmental Environmental Team is responsible for making sure that environmental standards are driven throughout Keoghs, and for raising awareness of how employees can assist. The team have rolled out a Green Policy and arranged Keoghs’ first "Green Day" - an event which included a wide programme of educational and fun activities all designed to educate and encourage staff to ‘do their bit’.
A number of other initiatives have been introduced to reduce carbon emissions. They include a staff car sharing scheme, strict recycling policies, energy consumption guidelines and the widespread use of video conference facilities to reduce the number of journeys to meetings. Going forward, we are investigating the purchase of green energy.
