Living in  Bolton

With countryside, historic manor houses, excellent shopping and a customary Lancashire welcome Bolton is definitely a great place to be.

For the shopaholics its town centre has indoor shopping malls, a Victorian Market Hall and a well-known traditional outdoor market. With the out of town complexes with multi screen cinema, bowling alley, restaurants and a range of shops; means there's always plenty to do.

For the sports lovers there are plenty of leisure centres around as well as The Reebok Stadium, home to Bolton's premiership club team Bolton Wanderers. There are also wide expanses of countryside just waiting to be discovered for the budding rambler or cyclist.

There's also the free museum and art gallery in the town centre which has a collection of local history items, and an Egyptian collection.

Bolton has a vibrant nightlife too with a range of bars, restaurants and nightclubs and all artistic tastes are catered for at the Octagon Theatre and Little Theatre.

Bolton like many northern towns has produced its fair share of well known celebrities, performing artists, and other famous people including Radio 1 DJ Sara Cox, comedian Peter Kay and TV presenter Vernon Kay.

With its closeness to the motorway network and not forgetting Manchester, one of the UK's most dynamic and cosmopolitan cities, Bolton is a great place to be.

Living in Coventry

Set in Warwickshire – 'Shakespeare's County'; Coventry is truly a historic treasure. Famous for its three spires, Lady Godiva's legendary naked horse ride through the city in protest at local taxes and Hitler's devastating blitz in November 1940, Coventry is now recognised as an international centre of reconciliation. The city's uniquely designed 1960's Cathedral stands proudly alongside the old Cathedral ruins which houses the reconciliation statue.

Coventry's impressive industrial history includes the major manufacture of ribbon-making, machine tools and more recently telecommunications. Above all, Coventry's industrial heritage is dominated by an era of world famous motor manufacturing which has today been replaced by high technology businesses.

Ideally positioned for major rail and motorway links, Coventry has a rapidly expanding airport too.

Excellent shopping, entertainment and cultural facilities make Coventry an exciting and lively city for residents and visitors alike. The large city centre precincts are extremely 'shopper friendly' and include Cathedral Lanes, the hugely impressive West Orchard Shopping Centre, a circular indoor market and the soon to be completed Belgrade Plaza. The city centre is well complimented by major facilities such as The Herbert Art Museum, The Belgrade Theatre, Skydome Arena and The Museum of British Road Transport with its collection of over 200 cars, plus bicycles, buses and other forms of road transport. The museum is situated in Millennium Place which is overlooked by the vast Whittle Arch. The city centre's healthy shopping environment competes well with at least half a dozen popular out of town retail shopping parks.

Sport lovers are well catered for too, enjoying action from Coventry's Rugger, Speedway and Ice Hockey teams plus Coventry City F.C. (The Sky Blues) now playing at the New 32,000 capacity Ricoh Arena which includes hotel, conference and events facilities. Top class acts that have already been attracted to the Arena include Bon Jovi, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Rod Stewart.

Being 'Sent to Coventry' is a must for everyone.
