Client Alert - Family imprisoned for Contempt of Court

Neil Southern, a partner in Keoghs’ complex fraud team, has secured another conviction for Contempt of Court against a claimant who brought a grossly exaggerated personal injury claim. This is Neil’s second Contempt of Court success in three months.

In this action, brought on behalf of LV=, custodial sentences were handed down to the claimant and two other family members who were involved in the fraud. This is first time, as result of County Court proceedings of this type, that immediate custodial sentences have been delivered against accomplices of a fraudster.
