Biography

David has been a partner at Keoghs since 1995 and has over 20 years experience of handling liability claims.  David has developed particular expertise in dealing with regulatory prosecutions, and was responsible for establishing the firm’s regulatory team a number of years ago. He defends individuals and organisations facing prosecution by the police, HSE and other regulatory bodies including handling PACE interviews and conducting his own advocacy in the Magistrates Court and at Inquests. David remains a respected civil EL / PL litigator and still plays a significant role in handling these cases and promoting Keoghs' expertise in this area. His detailed appreciation of health and safety issues, from both a criminal and civil perspective, ensures that both the lay client facing criminal prosecution and the insurer client facing a civil claim for damages receive accurate and consistent advice. Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession 2011 ranks David as a key individual, reporting that his peers note he is “very committed to this area of work; interested, capable and enthusiastic too".
