Biography
Prior to joining Keoghs, Stratos was a solicitor in South Africa specialising in claimant and defendant insurance work. He joined Keoghs Counter-Fraud Services department in 1999, and has considerable experience of handling all types of fraudulent claims. He has worked with a number of insurers to formulate a common approach to and process for dealing with Low Speed Impact (LSI) claims. He still takes an active interest in this area of law, and has researched, spoken and written extensively on the subject. Stratos is currently the director of complex fraud claims at Keoghs - a business unit which deals with higher value and complex cases (including tort of deceit and contempt of court actions) as well as determining technical policy, strategies and training for the firm's Counter Fraud Services division. Stratos co-authored "Fraudulent and Exaggerated Claims in Personal Injury", a technical reference guide for lawyers and claims handlers, published by XPL Law in 2006. He currently sits on the Forum of Insurance Lawyers Sub-committee on fraud and is an experienced public speaker, as well as having written and delivered numerous fraud-related training courses over the last few years.
