Keoghs Receives National Training Award - 28/10/2005

Staff at law firm Keoghs are celebrating receiving a National Training Award after attending the North West National Training Awards ceremony, held at St George’s Hall in Liverpool on 25th October 2005.

The National Training Awards are universally recognised as being the premier training award in the UK given to organisations and individuals who have achieved lasting excellence and success through training. They are aimed at those who have decided to improve their chances of success through learning new skills. The awards support the Government’s commitment to lifelong learning, crucial to individuals’ and business’ success and to the benefit of the UK economy as a whole.

Keoghs received this award in recognition of its Litigation Executive Foundation Programme which it developed in response to changes in 1999 to the Civil Procedure Rules. It is an example of Keoghs commitment to developing people within the firm. Following a two day assessment centre the programme is run under the guidance and tuition of Margaret Eddison, a qualified solicitor and the firm’s Legal Information Manager.

Margaret says:

”We are delighted to have received this award for the Executive Litigation Foundation Programme. At Keoghs we have an ethos of “growing our own” and this programme has enabled staff without previous formal legal qualification to learn and develop sufficiently to handle their own caseload”.

Keoghs were up against stiff competition and other finalists included Marriott Hotels & New Heys Business & Enterprise College, Georgia Pacific & Wigan & Leigh College, Lancashire County Council Pay Unit and BUPA Care Homes and Sarum Training International Limited.
