Keoghs Provides Employment Law Update - 24/04/2008
The event, held in conjunction with the Manchester branch of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), will be held at the firm’s Bolton headquarters (J6, M61) on Wednesday, May 7th at 6.00pm.
Kevin McKenna, head of employment at Keoghs said:
“The changing nature and complexity of employment legislation over the past few years has proved costly to businesses, and there are more significant developments on the way.
It is increasingly becoming more difficult for employers to keep abreast of all the changes and failure to do so can prove to be expensive if resulting outcomes are Employment Tribunal claims.
It is vital for employers to be aware of the law to avoid putting themselves and their businesses at serious risk.”
The seminar will provide employers with an overview of the legislation relating to dismissals, outline fair and prohibited reasons for dismissal, detail the procedures involved and demonstrate the law through relevant case studies.
The session will include an update on new legislation, changes to current legislation, interesting case law and forthcoming developments.
